Medium: For experienced hikers
Altitude: 2,500 to 4,500 metres
Duration: 4 to 8 hours walking time per day
Terrain: Sure-footedness and a head for heights required, suitable for anyone with a good level of fitness.
Special features: These tours are ideal for experienced hikers who are looking for a moderate challenge and feel comfortable at altitude.
Difficult: For experienced hikers
Altitude: up to 5,700 metres (sleeping altitude up to 5,000 metres)
Duration: 5 to 10 hours walking time per day, sometimes longer
Terrain: Untracked terrain, some glacier crossings, requires very good fitness and a medical certificate
Special features: These demanding tours are for trekkers who are looking for great challenges and require intensive physical preparation.
