The hikes will take you through picturesque landscapes, past terraced fields, dense forests, and clear mountain streams. Requirements

Health and Fitness

You should have a healthy constitution and good endurance, as the trip takes place at altitudes between 2500m and 4900m. At the beginning of the journey, you will have opportunities to acclimatize to the altitude.

Trekking Conditions

During the trek, you will be accompanied by a local kitchen crew, a guide, and pack animals, so you do not need to worry about logistics. Daily stages range from 4 to 7 hours with ample breaks and lunch.

Physical Requirements

You should be able to comfortably handle an elevation gain of 1000 meters. Travel times between stages range from 2 to 6 hours.

Health Precautions

A sports medical check-up before the trip is strongly recommended. Slow and steady walking is important, especially at the beginning of the tour, to acclimate to the changing climate and new sleeping and eating habits. Drink 2-3 liters of water daily, and bring a warm down sleeping bag and jacket. There is a risk of altitude sickness, which may require an immediate descent.

Consultation and Support

We are happy to advise you in a personal conversation about the tactics and risks of altitude. You are responsible for your own health, but we are here to assist you with advice and support to make your journey safe and enjoyable.

FAQ

What are the accommodations like during a trek in Bhutan?

Most travelers stay in tents set up by the accompanying team during trekking routes in Bhutan. We provide camping equipment as a tour operator. In some cases, there are also simple lodges or guesthouses along the route.

How difficult are trekking tours in Bhutan?

The difficulty of trekking tours varies depending on the route. Some trekking routes are more challenging and require good physical condition and trekking experience, while others are suitable for beginners. How can I plan and book my Bhutan trip?

You can book your Bhutan trip through us - a registered tour operator. Travelers must arrange a prepaid trip with a licensed tour operator who handles the necessary formalities for the visa and SDF charges. We take care of all formalities.

What are the "SDF state charges" and how are they calculated?

SDF stands for "Sustainable Development Fee" and is a mandatory fee levied on foreign tourists in Bhutan.
