FAQ

When is the best time to visit Bhutan?

The best time to visit Bhutan is during the spring and autumn seasons (March to May and late September to December), when the weather is mild and visibility is clear. Winter months may be cool, especially in higher altitudes, and the monsoon season (June to August) may experience increased rainfall

Are altitude sicknesses a problem while trekking in Bhutan?

Yes, altitude sickness can be a problem, especially on trekking routes reaching altitudes over 5000m. It is recommended to familiarize yourself with symptoms and prevention of altitude sickness before the trip and to plan for adequate acclimatization time. We follow the motto "go high and sleep down," always spending 2 nights in the Paro Valley and 2 nights in the Haa Valley before starting the trek, or we conduct the treks at the end of a tour when you are well acclimatized.

How difficult are trekking tours in Bhutan?

The difficulty of trekking tours varies depending on the route. Some trekking routes are more challenging and require good physical condition and trekking experience, while others are suitable for beginners. It is important to consider the difficulty levels of each route and choose one that matches your abilities.

How can I plan and book my Bhutan trip?

You can book your Bhutan trip through us - a registered tour operator. Travelers must arrange a prepaid trip with a licensed tour operator who handles the necessary formalities for the visa and SDF charges. We take care of all formalities.

What are the "SDF state charges" and how are they calculated?

SDF stands for "Sustainable Development Fee" and is a mandatory fee levied on foreign tourists in Bhutan. This fee contributes to financing education, health, and infrastructure projects in the country. The SDF fee is currently USD 100 per person per night. This fee is included in our tour price, and as a tour operator, we remit it to the government before the trip to Bhutan.
